We work with high school cohorts across Melbourne ranging from Years 9-12. We have worked with cohort sizes of 30 to 350 students.

Our 50-60 minute workshops are run by trained facilitators - high-achieving university students and recent graduates—selected for both their academic credibility and ability to engage secondary students.

Each workshop focuses on 2-3 evidence-based learning or studying strategies. We focus on explicitly explaining each strategy, explaining the science behind how it works and guiding students in putting the strategy into practice through interactive activities.

We also provide summary sheets for students and follow-up resources for teachers.

Our study skills workshops stand out for three reasons:

1) Aligned with cognitive science - our workshops are grounded in over 30 years of cognitive psychology research into how students learn most effectively.

2) Advanced study skills - we move beyond basic study tips and explicitly teach high-impact study strategies (e.g. retrieval practice, elaborative interrogation, interleaving, metacognitive questioning).

3) Development of metacognition - students learn not just how to study, but also the science behind why strategies work and how cognitive processes such as learning, memory and knowledge consolidation occur in their brains.
